As the American Canadian Tour’s 28th season shifts into full gear, teams prepare for the opening race on April 13/14 at Lee USA Speedway in Lee, NH. After one of the closest point battles in ACT history in 2012, eventual Champion Wayne Helliwell, Jr. edged out 8-time ACT Champion Brian Hoar with a victory in the season finale, and will look to continue his momentum at the Lee opener in 2013. The Governor’s Cup race is your Season Opener. This is the only time you will be allowed to run four sticker tires. Not including special event races or new comers starting later in the season. Any car that completes lap 25 of the Governor’s Cup 50 lap feature will be allowed to purchase an additional tire by your next two race events to help replenish your inventory.

This race has the same rules as the Firecracker 100 paying $500 to win and $75 to start.

Lee USA Speedway needs four interns to work at the track in Lee, NH during our 2013 racing season. We are looking for people with technical experience or sales experience. Interns may be involved with working with sponsors at the speedway or assisting at Victory Lane. The internship can be used to gain college credit. This past Saturday, the Lee USA Speedway held its usual pre-season information meeting for competitors and officials at the Kingston VFW. Lee USA Speedway General Manager Bob Watson stated, “We’re very excited about the upcoming season based on the overall enthusiasm of the competitors displayed at the meeting.” (more)
The Lee USA Speedway will be presenting its Annual Car Show in the Lilac Mall in Rochester, NH. The show will run from Friday, March 15th through Sunday, March 17th and will feature cars from all four of the NASCAR Whelen All American Series divisions competing at Lee USA Speedway on a weekly basis as well as many of the touring series that will visit the speedway over the course of the season. Lee USA’s small block supermodifieds, late model sportsman, hobby stocks, and iron man will be on display as well as representatives of the Valenti Modified Series, the Northeast Mini Stock Tour, the Northeast Midget Association(NEMA), ACT Tour and the Classic Lites. Lee USA Speedway celebrated the annual Banquet of Champions Saturday night at the Executive Court function facility, highlighting 2012 NASCAR Whelen All-American Series Small Block Supermodified champ Tommy Tombarello’s second career championship season in the track’s headline division.
The other 2012 track championships were awarded to J.R. Baril, who won his sixth Lee title in the Late Model Sportsman division after a six win season behind the wheel of the Brian House entry, Jim Shorey, who won four times on the way to scoring top honors in the David’s Race Cars and Components Hobby Stocks, and Jake Rheaume, a track-high seven-time winner in his Ironman championship season.
