Race season is finally upon us as the American Canadian Tour kicks off their 2013 season with the New Hampshire Governor’s Cup 150 at Lee USA Speedway on Sunday, April 14th. The pressure will be on for last year’s winner Brian Hoar and 8-time Lee USA Speedway Champion and defending ACT Champion Wayne Helliwell, Jr., but the competition will be hungry after a long offseason away. The Lee USA Speedway is honored to announce that Governor Maggie Hassan will be the Grand Marshall for the Annual Governor’s Cup 150 on April 14th. In January, Mrs. Hassan became only the second woman ever to be sworn in as New Hampshire’s governor. Prior to becoming governor, she served in the NH Senate for five years representing the 23rd district which includes Exeter and Kingston and was the Majority Leader. Her husband Thomas is principal of Phillips Exeter Academy. (more)
As the American Canadian Tour’s 28th season shifts into full gear, teams prepare for the opening race on April 13/14 at Lee USA Speedway in Lee, NH. After one of the closest point battles in ACT history in 2012, eventual Champion Wayne Helliwell, Jr. edged out 8-time ACT Champion Brian Hoar with a victory in the season finale, and will look to continue his momentum at the Lee opener in 2013. The Governor’s Cup race is your Season Opener. This is the only time you will be allowed to run four sticker tires. Not including special event races or new comers starting later in the season. Any car that completes lap 25 of the Governor’s Cup 50 lap feature will be allowed to purchase an additional tire by your next two race events to help replenish your inventory.
